Amsterdam, The Netherlands & London, UK – August 19th, 2020Leaseweb, the global hosting provider, today announced the appointment of Marilou van Doorn as Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Leaseweb Global. In this role, van Doorn will help drive operations across Leaseweb’s product portfolio, particularly with regard to its hybrid cloud offering.

“I am very excited to be furthering my career with Leaseweb,” said van Doorn. “The business has seen significant growth over the past few years, twice the market average, with a 22% increase in data centre locations worldwide. This means the organization is perfectly positioned to provide customers with the right combination of hosting solutions and network capacity to be successful. The wide variety of offerings has also been ideal for organizations looking to develop their IT environment during recent challenging circumstances, and I am confident that Leaseweb will continue to expertly support customers throughout these highly unusual times and beyond.”

Van Doorn is an experienced operations leader with a passion for data, and an exceptional understanding of the technological landscape. Having started her career in art, she pivoted into tech after falling in love with the tech scene in Amsterdam. She holds a Master’s degree in New Media and Digital Culture and an MBA from INSEAD.

Throughout her career, van Doorn has worked in operational roles as part of the management team in several global technology companies, including Wakoopa and Backbase. Her experience working at organizations of varied sizes – from startups to global enterprises, including two acquisitions - means that van Doorn understands the requirements to build a solid operational foundation to safeguard the success of a company. Her focus is on operational excellence and customer centricity, bridging the gap between business and IT.

“I am delighted to welcome Marilou into her next position with Leaseweb,” commented Con Zwinkels, CEO at Leaseweb Global. “She has been an extremely valuable asset to the company over the past year, successfully streamlining the cross-departmental processes, increasing the operational quality and efficiency, and working towards a data-driven operation. As the demand for hybrid cloud grows exponentially, her expertise will be invaluable as we expand operations into this area.”
