Why Businesses Choose Leaseweb

Jean-F-lix-Laflamme-image.png

"What really stood out was the ability to move quickly. Normally, we would test cloud platforms for a year, but with Leaseweb, we were confident enough to push to production after just 9 months."

- Jean-Félix Laflamme, President and Founder, UpSystems

"The Public Cloud solution offered by Leaseweb helped us reduce costs by 10-15% compared to other cloud providers, while still meeting all of our performance needs."

Frequently Asked Questions

New prospects and existing customers who have not used the Leaseweb Public Cloud in the last 6 months are eligible for €200 (or equivalent in local currency e.g. 200 USD, 200 CAD) in free credits, valid for 30 days. These credits can be applied toward any Public Cloud compute, storage, or networking resources.

Please note that third-party software licenses, such as Windows or Microsoft SQL Server, are excluded from the trial and require a paid subscription.

Learn more about trial specifics on our KB here

Your credit usage is automatically monitored within the Customer Portal. To help you manage your resources, we will send an automated email notification once you have reached 80% of your €200  balance (or equivalent in local currency e.g. 200 USD, 200 CAD). If your credits are fully exhausted or the 30-day period ends, your instances will be paused to prevent any unexpected charges. You can choose to upgrade to paid within 14 days from the end of your trial to resume your workloads.
Our standard Public Cloud instances are multi-tenant, meaning they reside on high-performance clusters shared with other users while maintained in strict logical isolation. If your workload requires a single-tenant environment, we offer Private Cloud solutions (powered by VMware or HCI) and Dedicated Servers for 100% hardware exclusivity.

Absolutely. One of the primary advantages of the Leaseweb ecosystem is the ability to connect multi-tenant Public Cloud nodes (for scalable web front-ends) to single-tenant Dedicated Servers (for heavy database lifting) using our Private Networking.

Traffic between these environments remains off the public internet and is unmetered.

A single Public Cloud instance supports up to 5 TB of storage. During the initial deployment, you can configure your root disk size, and you have the flexibility to expand this volume later as your data requirements grow.
While each Public Cloud instance includes one complimentary snapshot slot for quick system roll-backs, long-term backup and recovery is available as a premium add-on service powered by Acronis. This allows you to scale your data protection costs independently of your compute resources.
Yes. We provide an official Terraform Provider specifically designed to interact with the Leaseweb API. This allows you to define, provision, and manage your Public Cloud instances, storage, and networking as code. By using our provider, you can integrate Leaseweb resources into your existing CI/CD pipelines and maintain a version-controlled history of your infrastructure.
By default, each Public Cloud instance is delivered with one public IPv4 address. Currently, Leaseweb limits Public Cloud instances to a single IPv4 address, and additional IPv4 addresses cannot be added to a single instance at this time.
Yes, but with specific conditions. Currently, IPv6 is natively supported for Public Cloud instances that utilize Local Storage. Instances using Central Storage (highly available NFS) may have limited IPv6 availability depending on the specific region and platform version.

A Floating IP is a re-routable IP address that is not "hard-coded" to a specific network interface. Instead, it can be dynamically pointed (or "anchored") to the primary IP of any of your active servers.

At the moment, floating IPs are not supported with Leaseweb Public Cloud.

We offer a comprehensive selection of Linux, Windows Server, and BSD distributions to ensure compatibility with your stack. Our library includes popular options such as Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Arch Linux, and FreeBSD, as well as Windows Server Standard editions. For enterprise Windows workloads, you can also add Microsoft SQL Server licenses directly to your instances.

Note on Windows Deployment: Windows operating systems are available on all vintages using central storage only (with the exception of 6a vintages). To accommodate the OS footprint, Windows instances require a starting storage volume size of 50 GB, whereas Linux and BSD instances begin at 5 GB
