We proudly announce that a Leaseweb initiative called the ‘European Cloud Campus’ has been accepted by the European Commission as part of a European project to create a sovereign European Cloud. 
A sovereign European Cloud focuses on data residency in Europe and on attracting knowledge workers in the European Union to create and run applications in virtual environments that meet European rules and regulations. Currently, there are no available fully European solutions that offer scalability, energy efficiency, vertical integration, and efficient multi-tenancy at a hyper-scale level. The European Cloud Campus project powered by Leaseweb is being created to change that.   
Among the many exciting aspects of working in our industry are the pace of innovation and the challenge of anticipating customer needs.
As a leading European Cloud services provider, Leaseweb recognizes that IT and Cloud applications handle an enormous amount of often sensitive data that needs to be stored within European borders. The rapid growth of AI and machine learning has accelerated this process. The infrastructure created by the European Cloud Campus will allow companies to develop AI and Cloud applications that work on data stored and processed within Europe. Our belief in the benefits of reliable technology backed by exceptional customer experience remains central to everything we do, and through the European Cloud Campus initiative, we can focus and accelerate it to ride the wave of innovation.
