Amsterdam 12 may 2016 – LeaseWeb, one of the world’s largest hosting brands, announced today that it has become a Platinum Sponsor of the Apache Software Foundation (ASF). The sponsorship agreement also allows the ASF to use LeaseWeb’s hosting solutions to set up large amounts of infrastructure across the US and the Netherlands.

The ASF is the nonprofit underpinning of volunteer developers and software experts who have created hundreds of the world’s best-known applications, including Apache CloudStack, Hadoop, Cassandra, and the Apache HTTP Web Server. Now, all Apache projects will benefit from the CloudStack-based LeaseWeb Cloud, allowing developers access to the tools they need to continue working on their groundbreaking software projects.
As part of its Platinum Sponsorship, LeaseWeb will provide the Apache Software Foundation access to the LeaseWeb Cloud portfolio, comprising Public Cloud as well as Private Cloud powered by Apache CloudStack, and VMware-based private cloud solutions.

Approximately two-thirds of the ASF's annual budget is dedicated to keeping Apache Infrastructure running critical support services around the clock with 99%+ uptime over the past year (http://status.apache.org/sla). The ASF Infrastructure team is distributed on four continents, handles more than 10 000 requests per quarter, and is actively improving Apache monitoring, logging, reporting, and build services, with 200% increase in jobs being deployed.
