Amsterdam is an important Internet node where the main telecom carriers come together. So we are very happy to have found a good hosting provider in the Netherlands.

The organization
Based in Paris, Twenga is a global product comparison website that started up in 2006. This comprehensive shopping search engine allows consumers to compare over 70 million products in 100,000 product categories on various e-commerce websites.

Twenga uses crawl and search technology developed in-house, called TwengaBot, for its product comparison. Twenga currently indexes over 30,000 e-commerce websites.

Key requirements

  • Dedicated Linux hosting
  • Central location in Europe
  • Good Internet connections
  • Scale and growth potential
  • Large stocks of Dell hardware

The request
In order for TwengaBot to display accurate results with the right products and prices, the complex software needs a lot of bandwidth capacity to work optimally. TwengaBot currently uses about 500 dedicated servers that scan around 100 million web pages per day. Twenga also wanted the ability to expand rapidly, not only within Europe but also worldwide.

Twenga required a large amount of bandwidth, as well as a hosting provider with great European and worldwide connectivity.
