Datacenter; this is the location where your hardware is placed. LeaseWeb currently has 9 data centers ; AMS-01 (Haarlem - NL), AMS-12 (Amsterdam - NL), AMS-11 (Amsterdam - NL), FRA-10 (Frankfurt - DE), DAL-10 (Dallas - US), SFO-12 (San Jose – US), WDC-01 (Manassas - US), HKG-10 (Hong Kong – HK) and SIN-11 (Singapore - SG).
There can be many good reasons for using RAID. A few are; the ability to combine several physical disks into one larger "virtual" device, performance improvements, and redundancy.
It is very important to understand that RAID is not a substitute for backups.
Some RAID levels will make your systems immune to data loss from single-disk failures, but RAID will not allow you to recover from an accidental "rm -rf /". RAID will also not help you preserve your data if the server holding the RAID itself is lost in one way or the other (i.e. raid controller failure, earthquake, etc.) RAID will generally allow you to keep systems up and running, in case of common hardware problems (single disk failure). It is not in itself a complete data safety solution. This is very important to realize!
There are various raid level available, giving different trade-offs of protection against data loss, capacity, and speed. RAID levels 0, 1, 5 and 10 are the most commonly found, and cover most requirements.
- RAID 0 (striped disks) distributes data across several disks in a way that gives improved speed and no lost capacity, but all data on all disks will be lost if any one disk fails. Although such an array has no actual redundancy, it is customary to call it RAID 0.
- RAID 1 (mirrored settings/disks) duplicates data across every disk in the array, providing full redundancy. Two (or more) disks each store exactly the same data, at the same time, and at all times. Data is not lost as long as one disk survives. Total capacity of the array equals the capacity of the smallest disk in the array. At any given instant, the contents of each disk in the array are identical to that of every other disk in the array. At LeaseWeb, by default RAID 1 will be provided only on the first two disks of the server. The remaining disks are left unconfigured.
- RAID 5 (striped disks with parity) combines three or more disks in a way that protects data against loss of any one disk; the storage capacity of the array is reduced by one disk.
- RAID 10 (or 1+0) uses both striping and mirroring. "01" or "0+1" is sometimes distinguished from "10" or "1+0": a striped set of mirrored subsets and a mirrored set of striped subsets are both valid, but distinct, configurations.

Dedicated Servers: LeaseWeb offers a wide selection of Operating Systems (OS), so you can select the OS that best matches your business. If you require an OS that is not shown on our website, please contact our Sales department to discuss the possibilities. Limitation: 32-bit operating systems do not support more than 4 GB RAM (without adaptations). Cloud Hosting: The selection of OS for (Premium) Virtual Servers and Cloud instances is limited to those shown on the website.

Uplink Port Speed
The uplink port is the maximum network connection speed from the server to the Internet. All servers have a 100/1000 Mbps network card connected for Internet traffic. Our 10 Gbps servers are, of course, supplied with 10 Gbps network cards. Weekly, monthly, and yearly bandwidth graphs are available in real time via the Customer Portal (CP), LeaseWeb’s customer portal. You can also view the projected bandwidth during a billing cycle to help you plan for future needs.
1 x 1000Mbps Full-Duplex
LeaseWeb takes network customization and financial flexibility to a new level by offering 2 network choices.
The Volume network includes an economical mix of transit providers allowing for the lower cost to be passed on to the customer. The Premium network includes more transit providers and better speed to those hard to reach providers on the Internet. LeaseWeb can meet all your network requirements - depending on the type of application you are hosting at LeaseWeb we are able to recommend different networks at varying price points and grades of service.
LeaseWeb will automatically route traffic to third party networks via a private peering connection if such a connection exists between the LeaseWeb private backbone and the third party network for highest quality of service. LeaseWeb is also a member of 18 public internet exchanges and has many peering arrangements to insure optimum network performance. If no peering connections have been established with a specific provider, then the data is routed via a paid transit connection over different sets of Tier1 transit providers depending on the network setup chosen by the customer.
The Volume network provides no less than one default tier1 transit provider and selected private and public peering on multiple physical connections. This network is engineered to provide a cost-efficient solution to high bandwidth needs which do not need the actively optimized and more expensive transit providers found in the premium mix. LeaseWeb supports port aggregation to ensure the most efficient usage of customers hardware thus providing additional savings and financial advantages.
The Premium network is built to fit the requirement of customers with demanding applications which require fulll redundancy and the ability to leverage latency, international routing performance, and an overall faster and reliable network experience. The Premium network integrates a robust network Service Level Agreement, and leverages several uplinks and our superior networking design to accomplish outstanding performance and reliability. The usage of multiple best quality Tier1 transit providers, diverse private and public peering allows LeaseWeb to always use the best available path with the lowest latency and highest connection quality, thus bypassing any network congestions. The typical Premium network segment is equipped with two Cisco routers, each one connected to different core routers via separate physical connections, and uses both gateway and uplink redundancy to ensure non-stop routing and reachability.

Our networks are protected by state-of-the-art equipment and software. We regularly update and upgrade our Cisco routers and switches to protect our network infrastructure to provide the finest customer experience.
Virtual Servers and Cloud:
Every Virtual Server and Cloud instance is provided with a single IPv4 address. Please note that it is not possible to order additional IPv4 addresses. For Private Cloud you can order up to 256 IP adresses.
Dedicated Servers/Bare Metal Servers:
You can order up to 16 IP addresses for Dedicated or Bare Metal Servers, for Pay-As-You-Go Bare Metal the limit is 1 IP address.
You can order up to 256 IP addresses for a half-rack or full rack. For shared Colocation the limit is 16 IP addresses.
Please note that the RIPE Network Coordination Centre has very stringent application criteria for IP assignment. LeaseWeb adheres to this policy and has implemented an internal procedure to comply. This may mean that you are not eligible for the maximum number of IP addresses as stated above. Our sales team will be happy to consult with you on the next steps for requesting additional addresses via email@example.com.
Service Level Agreements
LeaseWeb houses its bare metal servers in secure, advanced data centers and can provide additional peace of mind for your business' critical operations with an extended Service Level Agreement (SLA).
